About the Members
Dr. Albrecht serves as the President and Chief Executive for Gateway Technical College. Gateway is located in Southeast Wisconsin and provides academic and workforce solutions for students and employers throughout the region. Under Bryan’s leadership Gateway has established a national leadership position in the development of innovative learning strategies, model business and industry partnerships and community engagement.
Bryan takes pride in giving back to his community serving on several local, state and national boards, including The American Technical Education Association, National Manufacturing Skills Standards Council, National Center for Occupational Research and Development, the National Coalition of Certification Centers, the Wisconsin State Workforce Board and several local community boards.
His experience has led him to testify before the U.S. Congress on workforce issues and as an invited speaker at the White House. Dr. Albrecht has been recognized as a Distinguished Educator by the International Technology & Engineering Association, as well as a Distinguished Citizen by the Three Harbors Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Most recently Bryan was presented with the Horizon Award for Leadership by the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin and the Distinguished Leader Award from the National Council on Career and Technical Education.
Allen Carlson brings to the board four decades of extensive senior management and leadership experience having served global manufacturing fluid-power and motion-control companies. He spent 20 years with Sun Hydraulics, the last 16 years as President and CEO. Prior to joining Sun Hydraulics, Carlson served in various engineering, product management and sales assignments for Vickers (Trinova), Incorporated. Allen joined the University of Florida’s College of Engineering in May 2016 to launch and grow UF’s Sarasota Innovation Station, an economic development and engineering education initiative. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for Sun Hydraulics and continues to serve as a board member on various industry companies. He is also a regent at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). Allen is a member of the national visiting committee for the NSF-funded Florida Advanced Technical Education (FL-ATE) and he was instrumental in launching the NSF and industry-funded CCEFP (fluid power research consortium). He serves as past chair for the Sarasota CEO Forum, the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA), and the MAPI presidents council. Allen is actively involved with Junior Achievement, serving on both the local and regional boards. Carlson is a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering and the Advanced Management Program (AMP 157) at the Harvard Business School.
Mariano launched his career at Alecop S. Coop where he began as a Research and Development Technician. During his time at Alecop S. Coop he also worked as R&D Director and then Business Unit Manager until 2000. He then signed on at SMC International Training located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain where he continues to work as Training Director.
In addition to his service on the Industry Advisory Board for Preparing Technicians for the Future of Work, Mariano has served on the Experts Advisory Committee of the Spanish Ministry of Education for Curriculum Definition of the Electricity-Electronics family from 1995-1996, and the Automation family from 2004-2005.
Mariano is fluent in four languages and has been a speaker at several international conferences about Technical Education, Automation, and Industry of the Future. Mariano holds degrees in Industrial Engineering Degree from Mondragon University and an MBA from Ot Otálora-MCC.
Dawn Montemayor received her BS in management information systems from the University of Central Florida. She now serves as the virtual chief security officer at Cyber Risk Solutions, providing guidance to business leaders on policy development, security architecture and engineering, security monitoring and management, incident response, security and compliance assessments, and vulnerability management. She is also a key advisor to EmpowerHER Global, serving as a mentor to female technology leaders on business growth on a global scale.
Gail Norris is the Director at Digital Industry Academy for Siemens Digital Industries, SITRAIN, where she collaborates with industrial customers to develop their employee skillsets, and partners with educational institutions on industrial programs. She is also a leadership coach.
Gail has converted classic instructor-led offerings to several digital modalities, and has been instrumental in the development of a Continuous Learning approach with the introduction of micro-learning and performance assist tools to the customer portfolio. Along with her role as a member of NSF-ATE National Industry Advisory Board, she has judged CLO’s Learning Elite entries since 2014.
